Camp Floyd

My Grandma and Grandpa Waters took me and my cousin Claira to Camp Floyd. It is a place where the army sent from the United States stayed while they were checking up on the Mormon and making sure that they were not planning any up rises. They ended up camping for the summer.

This is a canon that they used and it is 1/3 the size of a real one

This is the stage coach inn that was there at the same time of the camp

This is one of the bedrooms

This is an organ that they used to go in and play so that they made sure that the owners children didn't get to ruffed up by the people that stayed there

Here is a tree that was planted about 1850

Youth Conference

For Youth Conference we went down to Ferron, Utah. It is in the middle of nowhere. When we first got there we went on a water slide. I really liked it and I think I went down it at least 50 times. That night we went to the Castle Valley Pageant. That was probably my favorite it was just so fun to see.

These are some petroglyphs we saw, I like climbing in the rock around them as well.

Here we are getting ready for the dance we had with a local stake.

Rodney Atkins Pionneer Day Concert

For Pioneer day we went to see a Rodney Atkins concert. I really enjoyed it. He sang a lot of really good songs including "Watching You" and "Farmers Daughter".

Here we are sitting together waiting for it to start.

This is one of the better pictures we got of him.

This is him on stage.

Kennecott Copper Mine

Two days ago on Monday morning my Grandparent took Rachel, Elisha, and me to the Kennecott Copper Mine. It was so cool.

We saw a wheel that they use on the trucks and it was 12 feet 6 inches tall!

Here is one of the trucks on the road in the mine. You can kind of tell how big they are.

They had other things on display including part of an old train.

Here is looking into the mine

Grandpa and me

Looking at the mine from the outside

Thanks Grandpa and Grandma for taking us!! We had so much fun.

Excursion in the Uintas

My parents and I went to the Uinta mountains last Monday. We took a day hike and went to Pot Lake and around it. We went and looked over a ledge on a cliff. I had a good time, it was fun to get out and see other things that I don't see everyday.

Sewing with Grandma

My Grandma Water invited two of my cousins (Claira, and Rebekah), and me to do a sewing project with her. We made pillows. We did the front 4x4 like a quilt and then a border and a back. I had a great time. I love to sew and spending time with my family is a bonus.

4th of July

For the 4th of July I went to the balloon festival. It was fun to see all of the balloons. I have decided that I need to ride in one some day.

After the balloons I went over to the parade. This is one of my favorite floats, the American Fork one.

Don't forget Tom and Jerry!

Thanks Alan and Kristi for saving us a spot!

Bird Nest

In one of our pear trees at our house we found a bird nest. I think is really fun to see it.

Wild Fire

You may already know about the Quail fire in Utah County, but we could see it really well from my house. This is a picture of it from the backyard. I think that it is crazy how high the smoke got. We also watched it at night and we saw the flames, they were huge! It rain on about the 3rd day that it was burning and that helped a lot. It is now very close to being out.

Road Trip!

For a total of 4 weeks my parents and I decided to go on a trip to visit my sisters, who live in the med-west.
We had one day in Nauvoo then a week with Lindsey. Then we went to Cheryl's house and my parents left me there while they went on their cruise. They came back and we had another week with Cheryl. After that we drove back to Lindsey's and spent 2 night before driving home.

This is our first night on the road. We are in Kimball, Nebraska
Just imagine staring at this for 11 hours!
Next stop Nauvoo

This is where we stayed
Daniel really liked the wagon that we could sit on.
Here is me on the stilts and I am finally getting the hang of it.
We also went to Carthage jail and saw the room where Joesph Smith was held

Here, we are at the place that they make bricks
Now back at Lindsey's house
We decided to go swimming

Daniel like feeding the ducks

Daniel also liked trying out my rifle

Daniel didn't want to go to bed.
Does it get better than this?

After staying at Lindsey's we went to the St. Louis zoo together.

My favorite were the elephants

Here is one of the biggest bears that was there.

The cheetah wanted to see us close up.

This is a okapi
After the zoo we headed to Cheryl's house
We are making cards for picture frames. Some of our finished ones are below.

We enjoyed our gyoza!

Here we are eating craw fish, and yes I did try some

When my parents got back we went to a red birds game

We got to ride on an old fashion trolley.

We went and saw the Peabody ducks at the Peabody Hotel.

How sweet

We took Cheryl and Kirk's kayak out on a pond
Here are some of the pictures I took when I was not on in the kayak

We went to Gus's world famous fried chicken

After a fun week with Cheryl we went back up and spent 2 nights with Lindsey.
We went to the park and I guess we wore Joshua out.
